Supervisors

Steven Galipeau, M. A., M. Div., LMFT, Executive Director (Woodland Hills)

Steve was licensed as a therapist in 1975, and began offering supervision at Coldwater Counseling Center in 1983 when he started serving as Executive Director. He was certified as a Jungian analyst in 1993. Steve is a frequent public lecturer, and teaches and supervises in the Analyst Training Program at the C. G. Jung Institute of Los Angeles. He is the author of Transforming Body and Soul: Therapeutic Wisdom in the Gospel Healing Stories, The Journey of Luke Skywalker: An Analysis of Modern Myth and Symbol, and several professional papers related to the practice of analytical psychology. 

Tia Galipeau, M. A., LMFT, Clinic Director (Woodland Hills)

Tia began working as an occupational therapist in the 1970’s with psychotic patients and disturbed adolescents in a community mental health setting. She has been in private practice since receiving her MFT License in 1980 and was certified as a Jungian Analyst in 1997. Tia has been on the staff of Coldwater Counseling Center since 1984 and Clinic Director since 1998. She is also on the faculty of the C. G. Jung Institute where she has taught and facilitated year-long study programs for licensed professionals in Analytical Psychology. Her areas of interest include dream interpretation, the use of sand play and other creative mediums, women’s issues, and transference/countertransference in analytical practice.  She is also a Certified Child Analyst.
 

Karen Lipsky, M. A., LMFT,  (West Los Angeles)

 

Karen is an Advanced Candidate in the Analyst Training Program of the C. G. Jung Institute of Los Angeles and is in private practice in West Los Angeles.  She founded and co-coordinated the Child Abuse Treatment Program at the Julia Ann Singer Center at Vista Del Mar.  In private practice since 1983 Karen specializes in working with eating disorders and with survivors of severe trauma, abuse or physical illness.   She holds two teaching credentials.

 

Cydny Rothe, LCSW (Pasadena)

Cydny is a Certified Jungian Analyst in private practice in Pasadena.  She currently serves on the Board of Directors of the C. G. Jung Institute of Los Angeles and is Chair of the Institute's Certifying Board.  She also serves as treasurer of GREX (Latin for flock), an organization that studies the role of the unconscious in groups and organizations.  She gives workshops and talks on death, dreams, writing, and film.

 

Laura Smith, Ph.D., LMFT (Burbank)

Laura received her Masters in Counseling Psychology from the University of Santa Monica and her Ph.D. in Depth Psychology from Pacifica Graduate Institute.  She previously worked for over five years at the Center for Individual and Family Counseling.  Further information can be found at her website: www.laurasmithcounseling.com

 

Robin Wynslow, Ph.D. LMFT (Altadena/Studio City)

 

Robin is a Certified Jungian Analyst in private practice in Altadena and Studio City.  She is a past Clinic Director of Coldwater Counseling and later served as both Executive Director and President of the C. G. Jung Institute of Los Angeles.  Robin continues to serve on the faculty of the Institute's analyst training program, as well as at Antioch and Pacifica Graduate Institute.

 
 
Therapists
 

Evelyn Ball, M. S., LMFT Evelyn received her Masters Degree in Marriage and Family Therapy at California State University in Northridge.  She has a background in acting and elementary school education and speaks fluent Spanish.  She has long felt a calling to depth psychology and previously worked at St. Anne's Social Service Agency in Los Angeles.

 

Felipe Capiral, M. A., AMFT  Felipe has received a Master of Arts degree in Counseling Psychology from Pacifica Graduate Institute and a Master of Arts degree in Transformational Psychology at the University of Philosophical Research.  He previous worked at the Ness Counseling Center in Los Angeles. 

 

Annida Chomsevi, M. A., AMFT  Annida received her Master of Arts degree in Clinical Psychology from Antioch University in Los Angeles where she was able to pursue her interest in depth psychology. She previously worked in community mental health at Airport Marina Counseling Service.

 

Debbi Gillman, M. A., LMFT  Debbi received her Masters Degree from California State University, Northridge.  She has a background in school oriented mental health care as well as a long standing interest in depth psychology.  Her private practice is in Tarzana.

 

Jenny Hannah, M. A., AMFT Jenny received her Master of Arts in Psychology (with emphasis in Marriage and Family Therapy and Art Therapy) from Phillips Graduate Institute.  She is also an MFT Associate at the University of the West in Rosemead.  Past experience includes work at Children’s Hospital of Los Angeles  and OPICA Adult Day Care Services. 

 

Jennifer Hayes, M. A., LMFT Jennifer received her Masters in Clinical Psychology from Antioch University.  She has gravitated towards depth psychology after  work in a variety of fields.  She is also currently working with the Women's Clinic and Family Counseling Center in Los Angeles and as a volunteer in the Prism Restorative Justice program visiting inmates at the LA County Jail.

Barbette Hunt, M. S., LMFT Barbette received her Masters Degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from Cal State Northridge.  She also completed the one year Certificate Program for therapists at the C. G. Jung Institute in Los Angeles.  Her private practice is in Encino.

 

Michael Kamins, M. A., LMFT Michael received his Masters Degree in Counseling Psychology from Pacifica Graduate Institute.  Michael has a long time interest in Jungian psychology going back to an early passion for music and art.  He has previously worked at the Maple Counseling Center in Beverly Hills.  Michael is a published poet and currently studying philosophy and cultural criticism.

 

Sonia Kazandjian, M. S., LMFT Sonia received her Masters Degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from Cal State Northridge and combines her private practice with Administrative work at the Armenian sisters' Academy.  She is also working toward her Ph.D. in Depth Psychology at Pacifica Graduate Institute.

 

Margreth Knirsch, Ph.D., LMFT Margreth is a Jungian-oriented therapist, who uses sand play, art therapy and other spiritual tools to help with life transitions, relationship and cross cultural issues.  She began as an intern at Coldwater Counseling Center in 1995, was licensed as an MFT in 2000, and became the Counseling Center’s Intake Coordinator later that year and served in that capacity for ten years.  For over twenty-five years Margreth has worked in the human resources field all over the world, teaching communications/conflict resolution in a variety of cultural settings.  She is also a Certified Kundalini Yoga Instructor.

Dani Knoll, M. A., AMFT  Dani received his Master of Arts Degree in Clinical Psychology from Antioch University.  Prior to coming to Coldwater Counseling Center he worked at the Airport Marina Counseling Service.

Lyra Matin, M. A., AMFT Lyra received her Master of Arts Degree in Counseling Psychology from Pacifica Graduate Institute.  She also holds an MA in Spiritual Psychology from the University of Santa Monica.  She has served the past three years on the staff of the Behavioral Health Clinic at Weed Army Community Hospital in Fort Irwin, CA.

Eliza Ann Mitchell, M. A., LMFT is our Intake Coordinator. Eliza received her Masters Degree in Marital and Family therapy from Loyola Marymount University with a specialty in clinical art therapy.  She has previously worked at the ECF Kayne Eras Center in Culver City.  She has delved into the work of Marion Woodman as well as sand play therapy in her explorations of depth psychology.

 

Gonzalo Venecia, Ph.D., AMFT Gonzalo  received his Master's Degree in Counseling Psychology and his Ph.D. in Depth Psychology from Pacifica Graduate Institute.  His dissertation was titled "American Top 40 Mythology: A Soundtrack to Individuation."  Gonzalo was involved for many years in the entertainment industry and then felt moved to explore the myriad healing modalities that are related to a depth understanding of the human psyche.
